Thing that bothers me, I speed read a lot of stuff. It’s easy to miss that those aren’t real spicers. They could be if they had just stamped them as such.
But, that would be trademark infringement. Which is a big deal, as they didn’t do it.
It just deceptively close, plus the fact that they came in Spicer boxes with an all together different part number. That’s what gets me.
Now, I’m a couple of days out. I’ve got my head about me.
What do I do?
I’ve already installed these. They actually fit very well. Very tight fit, without having to beat the shit out of them to get them together correctly. Snap rings I tapped in with a small ball peen and a screw driver.
Joints are a bit stiff, what I would call “being brand new stiff”
If you guys hadn't of pointed out that they weren’t real spicers, I wouldn’t have been the wiser. Just pressed on like normal.
So, what’s to be done?
Part of me just wants to leave them and run them, see how long they make it with big power, big tires, big gears. And have another set of real ones standing by for when I get all gnarly and break one of them.
I’ve already initiated the complaint about the deceptive packaging. Do I pop these back out return them, demanding “real spicer replacements” at no further cost to me?
