Dana60 Wheel Bearing Nuts 6pt vs. 4pt ?

i JUST did front rotors on my 60 front . its now under truck #4 with the same bearings and races . and last time apart was almost 20 years ago . its done plow truck / mud truck / daily driver / and more duty . i just cleaned out the dead grease and checked the parts and all they needed was a re-pack with fresh wheel bearing grease and seals.

take this info and roll with it . and i live in the north east RUST belt of hell !
Hell Yes Brother ~ My first goal it to clean re-re-pack/grease and DRIVE!! I am a bit concerned about my ability to get the seal out without foobaring the snap out of it!! I suck at feee-ness!! Plus they be stuck good << aka rusted ! so I ASSume I will need fresh seals :saweet: I still need to get Part #s if my cleaning of the bearings reveals more damage, then I will be forced to start over with new parts...

Imo, it looks like you have rear axle hardware on you D60. That is the exact same set up on my D70HD and my old 14 bolt.

Edit: same spindle size so no big deal.

FawkenSweet.......
Keep it coming... I need the seals TOO...

To pull the hub seal out: remove the spindle nuts and outer wheel bearing, put a spindle nut back on a few threads. Grab the rotor and pull off the entire hub assembly off the spindle.

OK..... So I have rear axle hardware on my D60 Front ! OK then..... I already have the 6pt socket... so,,,do you think I need to consider swapping to front hardware.... or its all the same shit anyway

Keep it the way it is...one socket does front and rear

Problem is I'm more "corroded" than most situations... but thanks for the tip anyhoo!
