Getting an LS swap. Dantes peak came on tv just now and I realized the Mayor? is driving what looks to be an identical Toyota.

Did you buy this or still a customer?
pretty clean truck IIRC.

customers.

Yeah, it is a pretty clean Toyota for sure.

those trucks don't get enough respect...imho of course

Had one of those come into the dealer while I was working there (20 years ago) and the hole in the front by the bumper was to crank the engine over by hand incase the starter shit out.. Never saw that before.

These are non US available? They did what I want to do to my 'burb....

I love Landcruiser's, shame we don't get the newer ones. I'd love to have a newer 79 series pickup, a 4.5 turbo diesel V8, 5 speed manual, gear driven transfer case and locking 4.56 geared full floating axles, I like all of those things.

Nope, Toyota never has sold them in North America. Also, I just noticed, they still have manual locking front hubs.

I just grabbed these from Toyota Australia's website.

And there might be a 2 door version in other places.

Actually not true. They were sold limitedly in BC.

Can we stop posting pictures of 70 series now? I get a hard on to import one every time I start looking at pictures...

There was a decent amount of them. Pretty sure they were all BJ70s and 74s and right hand drive. My cruiser lingo is rusty but that should mean all diesels and 2 door short and mid wheelbase.

Now south america got a wide range of FJ7x's and theyre extremely popular down there. They got all gas models because of the abundance of gas and ethanol there.

Factoid: ICON 4x4 in CA did modifications to them and there were four of them.
May 2017 20th anniversary event in Wallace they should bring it.

Must have been TLC4x4 and not ICON.... Pretty sure ICON didn't even exist back then.

Either way it's cool to know that Jonathan Ward was involved. I'll have to ask him about that and see if he has any other cool deets about those LCs. :waytogo:

I'm quite curious now how hard it would be to find one of those dealer imported 70's.

Also, I found this camper for sale on a Japanese export site about 2 years ago.
