Dare I say it...Another 72 K5 build! The Bubba build - getting back into it

So you tell me the thing will be running in a week or two, but the updates have been non existant:dunno: More importantly, pictures!

I need to snap some pics and post em up. I have a buddy in town who's been helping out when we're not touring around the island, hitting the beach. Wiring is done, front shocks mounted, fuel/brake lines run, wet sanding/buffing done (well the first round of buffing anyways), column in, pedals in, gauges hooked up. I still need to make a torque mount for the t-case, rear shock mounts. I need to put the seats in (and figure out how to use the harnesses now that I don't have a cage to loop them over), put the bumpers on, paint the glove box door, put the lenses on, put the grill together and redo the exhaust. I think that'll about do it. I just need to run to the gas station and get a couple gallons to get this thing going.

My wildly expensive windshield was supposed to be installed Tuesday but it didn't show up in their shipment. My driveshafts should get here today :woot: It's getting there.

I'll take a couple pics later...

You have been doing all that without posting a single update or picture??? Thats probably the most serious CK5 Sin out there.

Oh god! Not the ban schtick!!!!!!:eek1:

Here are some pics:

First off, the reason I haven't gotten as much done/taken many pics of late is I've been doing a lot of this

and this

But back to the truck, the rear output and driveline brake showed up earlier this week. I'm still waiting on the driveshafts (and getting a little paranoid that USPS may have misplaced them...) so I need to throw that on there.

And here are some shots of the truck. I didn't take many of the paint because it still needs buffed more. The tailgate was sanded the least and subsequently looks the best right now. Some other spots on the truck are a little dull still so I bought some different polish that should cut a little better. I should be doing that a little later today.

Then a pic of the fuse block. The AAW kit was really nice and went together very easily even though I'm a wiring noob.

The cluster is in, but not 100% just because I haven't tested everything yet. My plan is to paint the glove box door black to mirror the gauge bezel. I think it should look pretty nice.

I forgot to grab a pic of it, but my dad got me one of these for christmas wheel

My rims are painted but I haven't swapped the swampers yet because I'm waiting until my year yoke gets here. I was going to do them by hand but they kinda whooped my a$$... So now I'll just do them when I put the pinion back together for the 14 bolt.

I got my front shocks mounted pretty nicely I think. They're 14" travel bilstein 5150's. I still need to do the rears.

And an overall shot of the engine bay. The radiator still needs to go in, and I need to wire in the fans. There's still a bit of stuff to clean up under the hood, not to mention putting the inner fenders in and whatnot.

I hope that was enough... please don't ban-schtick me:eek1:

:haha:

well....I have no idea why that last pic is sideways. It's not that way on my photobucket page, but whatever....

great pics man. its amazing to me how good this is turning out, considering you are doing all of this in a carport!

looks fantastic!

Thanks man, that really means a lot. What I need to do after I buff it out some more is take pictures with my actual camera, not my damn phone. Then the colors might be accurate and it very well may be in focus:doah:

Lookin' great Sean. I cant believe that the drive shafts haven't shown up yet. They're 24 hours late according to my watch.

Yeah, K think part of that is just the holidays. My mufflers showed up two days after it said they were "out for delivery" on the usps website... If they don't get here today I'll go have a chat with them on Monday. I just think it's odd that the small box got here 3 days early.
