Daughters 01 24 valve Dodge

Sold the hood and rad support last week for 150.00.
So we went a bought a pair of rust free front fenders for 250.00. They are PFK paint code, same as Kate’s truck! I’ve been after those fenders for a month, same guy I got the tow hooks from. He didn’t now what the paint code was and I didn’t have time to look at them. We had some time this weekend and took a chance? Lucked out on them.
He had some N Fab side steps for it that I could have got for 50 bucks. Kate didn’t what any Fockn side steps. :haha:

Sold the 318Today for 240.00 and the transfer case to the same guy for 100. I forgot I sold the air conditioning condenser to the guy that took the hood and rad support for 40.00 Not to much left of the 1500 now.

The only time I regretted not having steps was taking my grandpa to the hardware store he couldn’t get into my dodge. We ended up taking his truck but made me feel bad. Every other time tho it’s just a good way to make rust form under your doors.

We don’t like steps either... always take them off if we get a truck with them. I thought Kate might want them because her friends have complained about getting into her truck. She said Fock them if they don’t like it they can piss off! I don’t have any problem getting in.
We taught her well! Lol!

I like rails. Something that serves some protective purpose.

Rocks or car doors.

That and my wife and first kid use them. So nice the little one can scramble up there without me having to lift her.

Went to my Hutterite buddy’s and got the air conditioner working. Never worked when we got the truck last year and I drained the system when I changed the Hvac from the 1/2 ton parts truck to this one. Was a worried about how much work it was going to take to get it going. They charged it with nitrogen, held preshure for 20 minutes. Evacuated the system and filled it up with 134.

I was concerned that pump might not kick in but everything worked as it should. The air out of the vents came out at +5c While sitting during our test. “ Got one pic with the temp gun but not at its lowest point”
The pressure switch is set at 145 on the gauge, not sure if that is to high or if Dodge sets them at that?
My Hutterite tech though it was high.
After we took the gauges off the high pressure port was leaking slightly but the screw on cap stopped it, might have to change the valve if it’s a problem, I do have the line and valves from the 1500 if we need them.
I learnt quite a bit about AC today! Actually it’s not very complicated.
Kate is as cool as a cucumber and quite happy about it!
I asked them how much I owed.... 20.00 Bucks! :waytogo:
Very cool! :woot:

We just got an estimate for the AC in Deb's 02 Durango. $2250...

Gonna have to do some learnin myself it seems.

Guy I work with just spent 4 bills getting his ac recharged on a 96 Lumina. Worth more than the car.

My buddy recharged the ac on my impala ss for kicks not long ago. Handy to have a buddy like that sometimes eh.

O man! What’s the mater with it?
If it’s gotta come apart under the dash I can see a big bill! It took me a lot of time to swap the H vac out of the parts truck to Kate’s. But i’ve never done it before and the dash pad was extra time and a bitch!
Even at 100 bucks an hour plus parts that doesn’t add up!

I guess it has front and rear AC. The underbody lines to the rear condenser have hole(s) in em. The estimate was assuming new rear condenser as well as new lines and recharge etc etc. Gonna hit up the yards and see if I can find a Durango with good underbody lines and see if I can't make the swap without wrecking the rear condenser.

Kinda ironic, but the AC in my 2017 GMC quit too. That's a warranty job, I just haven't found the time to get it in for repair.

Heater core spung a leak so I swapped it with a good one I had in the parts pile. Three hours later she’s got good heat again! Had to disco the air conditioning lines to do it but that was fine because the freon leaked out of the high pressure valve a week after we fixed it. Will get after that next spring.

Before I fixed the heater for the second time...

The truck had rails in the box when we got it but no hitch... Kate and I searched adds for a used one with no luck! Took a chance and made a call to a guy i’ve bought parts from before... it was about 0c with wind no heat in the Dodge and after looking at over 60 trucks freezing cold we ended up finding a goose neck hitch in the last truck we looked at ....the one that was closest to the shop! :doah: The place is just down the road from us 8 miles or so , Dodge only auto wrecker .
A bit of modding on the hitch....it was 3/8 of an inch to wide for the rails... we had a tow Dodge for a 25 foot cattle trailer we wanted to borrow from the Hutterite neighbors.
