The last pic is 700.00 Bucks worth of new parts to get it back in with disks.
I think I smoked half a pack of smokes trying to decide what direction to go with it.Can't say I knew shit about it but ouch.

Of course.Did anyone know that the mounting flange is totally different for the disk brake D70 than the drum brake version. Or did everyone know that besides me!

Some new headlight bulbs and way more clear housings was today’s upgrade.
I don’t know about any of you guys but I hate it when the dip sticks vibrate loose. Added a spring to the engine oil a long time ago. Worked good so I added one the the trans stick today as well.

Didnt think a factory disk brake Dana 70 was a thing but after he gave me the numbers and I called them into the dealership… they made them for 1.5 years. Very rare!
Yeah I was told 01 and a half and 02 only for the D 70 and I believe the master cylinder is different for the disk brake tucks…but that could be that the trucks with D80s have a different master. I never changed anything but the rear end and the brakes seem to work fine on this one.I need a master cylinder for mine, after doing some checking around it seems the ones built before 7-4-01 had drums, the ones after 7-5-01 had discs.

Yeah those Dicks…Just the catalytic convertor stealers...![]()
