The lights just stopped working a couple of days ago.
When I set and release the "E" brake , the indicator light in the dash will just flash slightly (just enough to see it briefly)
Does anyone know what is wrong with them and how to fix them?
Thanks

Dude, a little info on the vehicle could help. A lot of vehicles have DRL's- from a Cavalier to a Freightliner. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

All the info is in my profile , I did'nt think that I had to put it in every post /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
It's a 91 jimmy full size 350 700R with no electrical mods.
Does anyone know what controls the auto running lights?
They just stopped working the other day /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm looking in my 1991 GM service manual, and the DRL is kinda sparse/sucks.
Do your dome lights work correctly?
Do your high beams work correctly?
It says to check both of those before starting any diagnostics. We'll go from there....

Thanks , I will check the high beams , the dome lights work still(the one between the front seats never did work , but the one in the back seat has allways worked)
I do believe the high low beams work though /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
So any info would be greatly appreciated /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I'm pretty sure there is, I haven't read the whole DRL bit in my (factory) service manual. It's strange that the front dome never worked... Under the carpet by the kickpanel on the driver's side there is an orange and white wire. The orange one usually corrodes out, causing the domes not to work.
I'm not at my house right now, so I can't help you until sometime tomorrow.

I'll be on tomorow so if you have a manual that would really help /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif
It's allway's a pain to figure things out without the books to help /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

If i remeber right, the daytime running lights have a switch on the e-brake that turn them off when the e-brake is engaged. I don't know if its a NC or NO switch but I'd start there. Just my .02

It seems that I have more problems now , ds. headlight is normal but ps. hl. looks like it is only half power when the headlights are turned on. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Could this be a ground problem?
Or is it related to the DRL not working problem?
Anyone dealt with this problem before?
I need to get it fixed soon as the days are getting shorter

For me this was my headlight switch. The filament inside that changed the brightness of my dash lights had broken and was cooking everything. That maybe? Fuses? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Daytime Running Lights Problem *pics*

Thanks for the info /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
It turns out that it was all caused by a bad connection at the passenger side head light (green terminal illness)
It caused the ps headlight to run only half power all the time and this caused the DRL system to stop working
I just fixed up the connections and bingo it's all good again
Thanks again for everyones help especially hawkeye 649 for the diagrams and trouble shooting guide /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
