Got the DBW pedal system out of the donor vehicle and separated it from the brake. The pedal has this strange pivot on the arm that renders it ineffective. Should I just weld it closed in the best position or does it serve some other purpose I am missing?

Pretty sure it has to do with the adjustable pedal setup.

If you weld it, i think the action will be weird.

I'd look into the linkage on the adjustable pedal setup, and possibly add a fixed link to the little link nub on that arm rather than fix the pivot.

good idea. I didn't like the idea of having it permanent but it is useless the way it is right now!

that is for adjustable pedal system .

get one from a reg non adjustable system . if I recall you need the black box / tac box that matches that pedal .

and if you were paid member I have pics on how to cut / weld a reg pedal to bolt in stock and have older gas pad on it . its in my 2wd build.

That is from a truck with adjustable pedals. It won't work very well IMO!

A bolt in solution is a throttle pedal for a 94-99 Chevy 6.5L diesel engine. Be aware that the pinout is slightly different from the LS pedals in that two pins are swapped on the connector.

fyi I had one of those and it was going to take up so much room under the dash .

that's why I went reg pedal setup .

and the newer stuff stuck the pedal pad so far out off the fire wall . that's why I cut it down and made it short .
