Decent Knob radio for not outrageous price?

I have a retrosound in my 87. No issues and I recomend it to anyone. The only thing I think is wierd is that the volume knob seems to be progressive as you turn it up or down. I use the remote.

Running it with factory speakers that have no issues. Maybe the whiners are looking for supper high end electronics. Thats not what these are. They are good sound with a retro look, not factory, but retro. With multiple modern inputs and outputs.

They either used a linear potentiometer instead of logarithmic (audio) potentiometer (which I find hard to believe) or programmed the remote volume so it adjusts differently, either is a rookie mistake.

To Martin, the OP, what do you consider stupid money?
Well, seeing as he won't spend more than $500 for a whole truck I'd guess it's on the low side of $100. Fifty doll hairs sounds about right.

just put a kenwood cd/tuner/mp3 player in my toyota pickup DD,was just looking for a cheap radio to listen to the morning news with, came with a remote too, brand new 65 dollars off ebay,i will probably never use the mp3 or cd player

Did said radio have two shafts protruding from the front of it...........

I know it's not what you want at all, but you can totally put a TV in your dash. That would be pimp. It also involves lots of cutting and no knobs!

:pimp:

Well I know you want knobs but did you look at my tech write up on the newer style I put in Blackie (the 87 Blazer)?

LOL!!!

I never saw your write up, but it looks like good people! My '90 came with the 1.5 din radio, but it was a sh!tty 1990 radio. I found a place that sells an adaptor plug to go from my 1990 harness, to my 2000 model year radio. Little bit of other dicking around and I got it mounted. Works like a dream! I have one with all the knobs and an iPod input on the front that I am waiting to put in one day.

Unless it was a super clean '70's truck, or low low mileage survivor, I wouldn't think twice about cutting the dash up.

Lol we posted at same time and almost same pics too.

Yea, I am torn on doing it to Big Red (DP burb) it still has the factory knob am/fm cass and a pristine dash. Hard choice to make but if a person had a cut dash our style radios are the bomb.

I know how to cut the dash up and install radios. That isn't what I was looking for.
