Decent set of spark plug wires?

just a word here... obviously we all like the MSD's, but I would just say not to discount Taylors... they make an excellent wire and have been a leader in the industry for decades.. I'm sure MSD has a few more sales due to name recognition....
Is there a set you dont have to cut and crimp?

Yep, the ones in the link are pre-cut, and the lengths are spot on.

FWIW, I've never used the Taylors. That doesn't mean they're a bad wire, I just don't have any experience with them.
I was refering to the taylors.

MSD Super Conductors are a marketing trick. It turns out the darn things have resistance. This is as bad as the Ford Fusion, which you may be surprised to learn uses internal combustion.

Wires? Where we're going, Marty, we don't need wires!

How is there a marketing trick when we clearly state the wires resistance will read between 40 and 50 ohms of resistance per foot of wire?

Some people stand too close to their Mr. Fusions while in use I think... :dunno:

nsxxtreme, shoot me the details on your rig and I'd be happy to give you a part number.

Keep in mind that when wires come specific to a vehicle they are designed with lengths in mind to be routed in the original wire looms that came from the factory. If those are gone and you simply lay the wires over the valve covers then yes they will be WAY too long.

We offer shorter sets to run over the valve covers in such case.

Ya they are basically routed over the valve covers. Its an 87 Blazer that now how a Vortec motor with headers. Its got edelbrock etec heads but the standard valve covers.

Really? So I thought Ford had developed fusion power for the automobile? And you don't know the definition of superconductor? How was my post not funny?

just make your own, it's not hard with the right crimper... my sh*t, something I really care about, I'll cut my own.... some BB in a customers boat, premade....

sheesh, don't be so lazy.. ;) yes, just weed thru the search choices to the left at Summit and click on "assembled"

There are just SOOOoooo fricken many options with fricken spark plug wires its nuts. Keep in mind I don't buy Chevy parts ever. None of my other cars have spark plug wires and this is the first Chevy I have ever owned.

I think most people realize they are not a super conductor. And he probably didn't get the sarcasm. But it is a catchy phrase that probably catches the average enthuisests attention. Gear heads aren't always known for their intelligence either. Their are some that are pretty dang bright though. Those kind of marketing tricks work to differenciate between brands even if they are meaningless.

What's the "right" crimper. I don't ever buy this stuff so I dont know what works and what doesn't. I don't mind making a set if the tool works right and the next time I go to change the plugs the connector doesn't fall apart.

I have the plugwire die for my Longacre crimpers.. MSD makes a nice set, bit more money... heck, the Accel smash em's work in a pinch....

some wires come with the stupid vice crimper to crimp the wires. Basically its 2 dies that you stick in the vice with the wire in the middle, crank away and it crimps it on the end. Its really easy, once you do it, you will never go back to the premade sets again. its really nice to have the lengths perfect. Plus if you ever pull a wire from the boot, you will know how to repair it on the side of the road with a rock and a stick.

I still have the stock wires from 78. I bought some new gm wires but had problems getting them to fit on the distributor.

Aha, so you are this guy.

This is the review he wrote for Amazon about some bulk 100w light bulbs.

Very disappointed in this product. Purchased to use on a camping trip for both light and heat, since I'd read about how warm they get. The more fool I! Long story short, there's a WHOLE lot of fine print they don't tell you about up front: Requires a lamp, requires an "outlet", requires some arcane piece of kit called a "power grid" that Amazon doesn't even carry!

May be a great product IF you already collected all the accessories, but I have better things to spend my money and my time on.

P.S. INCREDIBLY fragile. Definitely not top-shelf camping gear!
