Degree shim installation question

So yesterday @cheavyk10 and I worked on my truck and we came to the conclusion that my Rear axle needed 6 degree shims and the only ones we could find locally were some from 4 wheels parts. The question is how do we install them? Between the zero rate or under it on the axle mounting pad. The holes seem really large so we're not sure. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Mine are on the axle under the springs.

I would put them on the axle pad, the large holes are for the people that stick them under the spring pin and just use the u bolts to hold them in, I always like them to be actually bolted to the spring pack.

I think I want to go that route also. We didn't end up using these.

The only way I would want to run those is between your easy inch and the spring pack so at least it could be bolted in place. I would never even drive a truck if the center pin wasn't engaged in the perch.

The pin should go through everything, shim, easy inch, and spring.

Yeah those shims are so thick the pin would not engage The perch. And the hole is so big that the pinhead would not even hold it to the spring pack

Bolt the shims to the bottom of the zero rate.
Steel shims and new center pins can be sourced through WFO (see link below). Buy extra center pins and keep them in your truck if you plan on wheeling it.

Off-road Design and DIy4x both sell steel degree shims and they are CK5 peeps.

What tripped me out was the size of the hole. Look at the difference between the aluminum procomp and the steel WFO versions.
4wp must want you to die...or crash and buy a Jeep....
