Deleting my tranny dip stick...

on a side note, i do know for a fact that the little plastic cone adapter that comes with RTV tubes works very well to plug the TV cable hole in a TH350.......

you meen kick down cable right? I tthought tv was for newer trannys with electronics "700r4"

or is this like how different people call it a coke even if its a sprite ??

or are they called both tv and kick down,

It's a TV on the TH350, or so I was told by a UTI grad friend. C4's & C6's have kick-down levers/cables and TH400's have that switch, but the cable on a TH350 is appearently a TV.

TV is Throttle Valve..... the cable controls the throttle valve line hydraulic pressure. basically, the farther open the throttle is.... the higher the TV line pressure. if TV pressure overcomes governor pressure, it downshifts, then, when governor pressure picks back up from the higher road speed, and overcomes TV pressure, it upshifts.

Th-350's use a Kickdown cable, a 700r4 uses the throttle valve cable. this must be adjusted correctly for the unit to work correctly. adjust To MAX TV, I dont care what anyone sais there is no adjusting a tv on a 700, its max tv or its gonna get burnt.

AS Far as the concern of deleting the Dipstick tube. Hughes performance sells a really nice locking dipstick that i have seen in monster trucks, rock crawlers and even boats.. With this and a one way check valve in your vent tube for the tranny you will have NO overflow should your rig decide it wants to eat dirt. This is all i use and have never had a problem... Nate
