So how many thousand $$ did you throw into that trade to get a 540 K5 for a beetle?


Why not turn the big block truck into the trail rig (power for those deep pits) and convert the newer one to the tow rig? That 540 sounds awfully thirsty for tow trips.
 
You should seriously consider investing in some good tires.
I bought a set of 35" wild country's several years ago and got less than 25K on them before the sidewall on one of them came apart.

It was an even trade on the vw for the blazer . The one with the 540 has a complete solid body and nice interior

New tires will come in time I just had to replace the a/c unit in the house so I am broke
 
Nah its a good friend and I get one of his cars and finish it then I usually trade it for one of his other projects . The vw had a complete new drive train in it.
That was his only big block
