Hoping you guys can help me out. I bought an 84 K5 from a guy and he knows very little about the truck he "inherited" from a friend. It seems to be very stock, except for the GM replacement 350, and the 32" BFG's. I'm trying to determine if the truck has any lift in it. I figured the best place to measure would be center of the hub to the fender lip.

Mine are: 21.5" (rear) and 22" (front)

Does anyone have a stock truck that you can measure for me?

Thanks,

Kent

I would think so, no one has posted info to the contrary.

just wondering about my lift as well. it has a 6" block in the rear but the rear, from the ground to fender is 41.25" and the front is 45" from the ground to fender and the lean kills me, i hate how it looks. the difference from the axle to frame, front is 14.5" and rear is 14.25". which indicates a 6" lift I'm just wondering why the rear is almost 4" lower.

Where are you measuring? The fender openings are different front to rear.

i measured from the centerline of the axle straight up to the bottom of the fender.

i also measured from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame and the diff between front and rear on the frame was about 1/4"-1/2"

i guess i have never noticed but do all blazers have that rearward lean?

Many blazers have a little bit of squat in the rear, too many sit level for it to be intentional so that's probably tired springs or tweeked frames.

i measured from the centerline of the axle straight up to the bottom of the fender.

As stated, using the body to measure isn't accurate. The wheel openings are different front vs rear and body bushings can effect it.

The 8.5" measurement was established on the front, I don't think there is a cut & dry measurement for the rear because of the various options that can effect spring rates / quantity.

The fact that you came up with a 6" lift measurement in the front and then verified the truck has a 6" block in the rear would seem to indicate the truck sits pretty level to the eye - no?

it's not but those rear springs look flat to me in this pick. should be arched.

Nice truck

Look at the line of hood to the line where top meets body. look at the line at bottom of rocker boxes. Don't look at fender opening.
edit; The red paint is also wider in front than in rear.

Thank you! They are very flat, I will be replacing the lifting block on the rear and installing 6" lift springs in the future.

Never noticed the stripe is tapered, I believe that is throwing me off and the fender opening.
