Did any 3/4 tons get 14 bolt full floaters after 1981?

Same thought as the other thread. Was 1981 the last year for a full floater in a 3/4 ton. Someone told me you could get one in a 2wd Suburban, but I am not sure. I am really more curious about 4x4s. I have never seen a K20 pickup or Suburban newer than 1981 with a 14 bolt full floater rear.

'81 started the 14SF but I've seen very few K20's with FF's so I believe GM was phasing them out in the 3/4 tons.

2WD/C20's had both SF and FF's but the majority ran FF's that I've seen.

1980 was the absolute final year that all C/K20's ran FF's in every truck. '81 started both axles. Just like '80 was the final year for the NP205 in the K5, 10 and 20 whereas the K30 continued to run them clear up to '91. And '81 began the NP208 t-cases.

I don't think I've seen one in a 3/4 ton, but have seen some in 4x4 burbs, usually were diesels. Or big block burbs.

81-91 3/4 ton Suburban's came with 9.5" sf 14 bolt unless they had a 454 which had the 10.5" 14 bolt. No 454's in 4X4's. Only available in 2wd.

This. All 4wd burbs had a sf. Only the high gvwr 3/4 ton pickups had FF's.

I had a 83 K20 that had a FF 14 in it, it was a high GVW 3/4 ton, 350 4spd truck.

Wait I knew I had seen one. That $500 89 c20 suburban with the tbi 454 red bought had a 14 bolt ff.

The 14ff in my Blazer came out of a 1985 2wd Burb with a 454/TH400 combo.

I've seen 14bff in both burbs and k20s from the mid 80s... Not real common, but they are out there...

Do you have proof that they were factory? Not trying to call you out, just trying to find the answer.

Could you get a big block 4x4 Suburban? I don't believe so.

Not until '92 with the newer body style. All 4X4 square body style p/u and Suburbans from '81-'91 had the 9.5" c-clip 14 bolt. The only '81-'91 square body style 3/4 tons with a 10.5" 14 bolt were 2wd's equiped with 454's and 2wd crewcabs.

The 83 I mentioned earlier, had a FF from the factory. I got the truck from the original owner and later swapped the 8 lug10 bolt and 14 FF into a 85 K5 I used to have. This was a few years back but it was a bone stock original very well used 83 3/4 ton and it did have a 10.5 FF 14 bolt rear with 3.73's and an open diff from the factory.:D

Probably not the body style your talking about but I had a '99 3/4 T suburban 454 4x4 that had a 4.10 14 BFF in it.

The 14 ff I got from the junkyard was out of a 82 3/4 ton pickup 4 x4. The perches lined up perfect.

I bought my 85 new, and when going through the options list at the dealer, the C6P option was for HD chassis equipment...this was the 8600 gvw not the lighter duty 7200gvw.
The C6P option included the FF axle for the higher gvw rating that year.
