Hey all,

I finally bit the bullet and bought a service manual. Shoulda made life easier on me and done this years ago.

Anyway, I see a number of different versions. I just bought this one:

But I noticed there are a few types. What is the difference between the one above, and say, these? Which is the most complete? Did I buy the right one?

It LOOKS like you bought the right one - the "service" manual. The second like you posted is the "Unit repair Manual". I bought that accidentally - it shows how to rebuild the engine and transmission and things like that, which was useless to me.

My shop manual looks different, it is like THIS:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990...Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item1e5cd78827

That has everything except the detailed electrical, the TBI, and the major rebuild stuff that the Unit repair manual has.

There is also a TBI manual and a wiring diagram manual for these trucks!

Electrical:

Here is the TBI one:

Aweeesome....not terribly concerned ab the unit manual, and my truck has a carbed crate engine, so I'm guessing I made the right choice.

Thanks for the quick response!

You bought the right one. I would still pick up the unit repair manual if you want to rebuild the steering gearbox or anything.

The 3rd link you posted is for C/K trucks. Since 91 was a crossover year (subs, blazers and crew cabs stayed the same, pickups went to the new style) they released books for both the R/V style (what you have) and the C/K trucks.

$90.00 for a set for my 87' Blazer

Waiting for the repair/rebuild manual for the NP241 snd 700R4 transmission.
