did my battery freeze to death?

it got below freezing last night, and this morning my truck wouldn't start. no lights, no horn, no clicking, nothing. i jumped it with the wife's honda, and drove into work. i let it sit for a few minutes, and then started it back up with no problem.
when i went out to go get some parts, the truck wouldn't start again. nothing. i jumped it, but did the cold kill my battery?

your battery was probly on its way out before it got cold....the cold was just the final push it needed to throw it off the edge.

and the moral of the story is,"keep the import in the driveway so when the real car breaks you have something to get to the store with" but really, are you sure you didnt leave something turned on over night?

Could take it to a place like Napa and have them run an electrical test. It tests all your system and will tell ya if the battery needs replacing. I just did my Blazer couple months ago and found that I did need a new battery.

Surprisingly my truck always starts, even when outside, even when my mom and sister's don't!!

The coldest I've ever started my truck in was -42' Celcius(-44' Farenheit). Up here, we take our CCAs very seriously

!!!!! I don't think that the cold was to blame for your no-start- I've never had a battery freeze on me.

Like Chaz said above, your battery was probably on it's last legs, and one cold night was all it took to finish the sucker off. Take it from a guy who deals with temps of -25 Farenheit for weeks at a time.

Yep, deal with temps like that here too in AK. Never had a battery freeze, put a new one in anyway last Summer. I do have a block heater though, which keeps under the hood toasty...But, if your battery was going bad, yes a cold night would finish it off I guess.

my starts everytime, but without a trans its kinda useless, but i guess the heat would work, or i could listen to the radio

it was an I D 10 T open circuit issue.

( i was an idiot, and left the fog lights on). but i got a new battery, anyway.

put a tray on the other side and run two batteries, the old one and the new one. good to hear that you fixed it.
