So I replied to this CL ad for an 83 1 ton rolling chassis. Went to get it today. It's complete minus cab, engine and radiator. The brakes, power steering, dual fuel tank, new exhaust are are still intact. There is a tag on the bottom of the D60 when it was rebuilt in 96. Truck was last licensed in 2006.

nice, is there anything wrong with the frame? Normally you salt guys keep the frames and swap bodies, might be this case?

Nothing wrong with the frame that I can see. The engine was blown and the body was supposedly rusted out really bad

need close up of rear springs .

judging by the pic i could see i think those are 22-617-hd rear leafs . 1500 lbs over normal 1 ton rear leafs.

thats a super score all that for the 1200 :thumb:

and find someone with a subaru or little rice burnner car and have them save you there old 16" tires. 205/55/16 fit on stock wheels and make great rollers for tight fitting garage areas. see pic 9" total lift on k30

The springs are HD. It use to belong to a fleet. He thinks they had some sort of salt spreader hanging off the back

i have the same pair of hd in my storage for when i redo my k30 plow / work truck.

easy way to spot them is thick leafs all the way threw the pack and some have a 2 stage overload leaf setup on bottom.

the overload on the top to the frame brackets is a factory type thing. thay add a few over the springs by them self also.

thats over $750 bucks worth of springs new there if you buy them now. i just priced a pair for a guy last week. :eek1:

Found my wife's 01 grand am on CL 4 years ago for $200.Thought it was a type o at first but called to check.Had new everything from brakes to hoses new tires etc.Couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough.Only thing Ive done to that car since we got it is oil changes and it runs perfect.LOL

nice score, been keeping my eye open craigs but hadn't seen that one. Seems we've got more guys in the Springs popping up on here. Prob ought to do a meet and greet at some point!

My Buddy Big Joe built this truck for a shop truck, but he sold to another buddy who's in the army up here. well this guy had it parked on base and it got stolen, driven to remote part of base, had the wheels tires and stereo stolen, and then they lit a fire in the back seat.

The guy bought it back from his Insurance and I bought the truck from him tonight

This one was listed in the Denver CL. I just happened to find it by using different keywords. I think I was searching for "14 bolt" when it came up

Well actually yes plenty of times too.
It's when I don't need things that I usually end up with great deals.
If you have money laying around, you can jump on deals.
The latest deal was a 91 crew cab, I got for the TBI 350/4l80e/205 what I paid for the whole truck.
I sold the 14b and D60 and a few other misc items plus the contractor cap and I still have the whole truck to make my crewcab dream truck with the diesel power I already have.

What kind of price you looking for on the rear springs? Those are exactly what I'm looking for to replace my current sagging '87 V30 rears.

I'm making an overnight trip to CO Springs day after Thanksgiving to pick up my BBC. Coming up with the GF and staying in a hotel and then loading up everything on Saturday then back home.

Testing the waters to see what kind of price you're asking. Besides the BBC, thats even a little more weight in the back of my '98 Jimmy with the motor. :doah:
