What about a bracket/plate to move the steering box a couple of inches forward?
Sure, we could do that.

LED light bars are all the rage now, what about mounting brackets? Maybe brackets that go on the A pillar between the door and pillar so they'll work for full and half tops.

Kert, check out these corner skins

Daydreaming instead of working...
Take the front piece of the frame boxing kit, trim it down to fit on the outside of the frame arc over the front axle and maybe drill some common holes so it'll be a bolt on plate. Add a tubular shock mount to it and maybe an option for an adjustable bump stop. Maybe a brace from the peak of the shock mount down to the top of the frame like the old Rancho triple shock hoops or an option for a tie bar over the motor. Package it with some steering knuckle shock tabs and voilà! - longer travel front shock mounts.
Seems like the only tricky part would be the steering shaft.

Back from the dead....
Similar to this pic I stole from the net except with a bump stop in the middle -

U-bolt plates with a bump stop pad built on to it like some of the guys here have made.
2" i would think would be plenty, with the b52's and high steer, the tie rod and drag link are constantly getting in fights with each other. I would imagine it would need a way of reinforcement also.
