I am thinking of swaping a 6.2 into the k5 and am wondering if the 6.2 has the same engine mounts as any chevy gas engine? The swap probably wont be until next summer but I need new engine mounts now, and am leaning towards a hd crossmember as well. So if I drop the money for kerts cross member and engine mount kit now will it work with the 6.2? Thanks

. One of the mount boxes had a small crack in it as well that I ground down and welded up. Be sure to inspect those parts while you have them out. The HD crossmember gives you better access to the engine mount holes I think. Made putting the engine in much easier as far as installing those mount bolts. But I will say that its alot tighter fit between the firewall for the rear of the engine and between the oilpan and the crossmember when reinstalling. I guess the HD crossmember sits higher in the frame, and I know it sits further back. It fit, but just barely, and it took some finessing. My flywheel was the most difficult find ( I swapped out the 700R4 for a 465). Be sure to check the clearance of the large through bolt in the engine mounts, because with clearance with the lift pump I was unable to install the two halves together a certain way, I forgot to have the halves installed together when I wrestled the engine in, and then almost couldn't get them together once I had it almost in place
