why does you 93 have 3.42's??????

[/ QUOTE ]

That's how it came from the factory. And just the way I wanted it. Keep the Rs down for a road truck.

and lastly do cummins require atls transmissions? or can i use the 350? i know anything with atlas on it is gonna cost.

I have the adapters to go to a GM auto. Am looking at using dodge bellhousing/flywheel on the NV4500.

I just got a whopping 7 mpg with my '91 sub pulling a 24' pontoon, and couldn't maintain 65mph or OD /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.

I think his burb is a gaser.

Yes, it's a gasser.
If the 6.5 in the '93 is savable I may rebuild and install it into the '91 suburban. It would be easier than a cummins swap and the weight would be less.

The plan is too pull the 6.5 out of the '93. It is locked up currently. Originally I had planned to install the cummins in the suburban. Then this truck came along and it would be a faster swap and I could use it as a daily driver in the winter as well, the 'burb is put up for the winter.

The sub may still get a cummins(CTD), 'specally if the 6.5 is junk. I'll keep the GM auto trans adapters for the CTD and use a dodge bellhousing for the NV4500.

In not so many words I would be no, it's not for sale.

How about selling the 6.5 turbo stuff? Like the turbo, exhaust cross over pipe, misc plumbing, intake, down pipe etc.

The stuff may come up for sale in the future. But won't be anytime soon. First priority is to get the truck running with the CTD, even that may be a few months before I start that project.

Just poured concrete in the barn, need the deck replaced and new entry door just for starters. Dang house list /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

3600 is screaming for a diesel. The Cummins redline at 2400 or less /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

It's not all bad though, the diesel also makes so much more low end torque you can use a taller gear for wheelspeed without bogging it.

I've found the rev governor on my 6.2 once, and it sounded quite happy at 3600 rpm to tell the truth...:o

Mud drags with a 6.2...not the best choice. Occasional mud it'd be just fine though.

My cummins doesn't red line at 2400, more like 3500. I run it at 2600 at 65 MPH with the OD off when I pull a heavy load all of the time. 75 mph puts it up to about 3000 rpm's but it only gets about 9 mpg pulling 26,000 lbs at that speed.
