I am going to swap in the 14bff and it has 3.73 gears and my front 10b has 3.08 gears will it be ok to drive it about 10 miles to get the gears swapped out??
Thanks
-Chris

Drive it all over if you want, just don't put it in 4wd on a hard surface or you WILL break something.

Pull your front driveshaft till you get matching gears for that rear, that way there is no chance of screwing anything up.

so it doesnt matter what gears I have in the front as long as I dont but it in 4wd??

He has a NP208 its part time. But you might want to pull the front shaft just incase. If you have auto they might lock on you like mine did one day when I still had the stock axle in it.

ow sweet now I can install the 14bff sooner than I planned, I can install it now then wait till the money comes and finish it, thanks alot.

Well I remember being like that.... do some now and more later... but what I have learned now is better to wait till all at once so it is correct. Remember that if you pull your front shaft and put the 14bolt in... then you wait a month or 2 or 3 trying to save for front gears.. then the wheelin craze hits.. and you go in 2wd and break stuff...

I say do it all at once or not at all..... I have all the parts to do my rear disc conversion on my 14bolt.. with eldorado calipers.. but im waiting for just a few little things... like ebrake cable and time... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Yea I was just thinking about that, I think you read my mind, but at least I can swap it in when i have evrything ready and take it to the shop to get the gears put in it then wheeling time!!!

PM me and I can introduce you to some guys around here who can help. They might have some parts. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Don't go to 4wheelparts for anything besides window shopping. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
