That would be good but Mobil one is 8 dollars a quart instead of 12. That Permatex is what I use.
yep that stuff for rtv is the new ticket .
our old rigs use reg oil . if you were using it hard and wanted better you can swap to synthetic .

Runs cooler. Flows better in cooler temps. Probably not an issue for him.
Won't break down in heat as quickly. Plus for him..

If your not in a huge hurry I bought 2 quarts for of Mobil 1 for 18 bucks off Amazon.
You might find a deal like that in your willing to search/wait.
walmart or local chain stores have good deals on the shelf a lot .
when i need oil change i go to walmart for the oil and a S8A stp oil filter i use on my parts washer i built . then hit the local napa for a napa gold / wix premium filter for my needs and am still money ahead over the chain store prices for oil/filter sale deal .

I really should change the gear lube in my pickup's diffs--and the ATF in the transfer case..
I've only owned it since 2003,and put about 18,000 miles on it---
-but whatever is in them may be the original it was filled with in 1982 when it was built maybe..unlikely,but maybe..
Truck shows only 48,900 something miles on the oddoemeter--no idea if that's "original mileage" or if someone changed the speedometer--I noticed the speedometer needle is much brighter orange than the other gauges needles are,the others are faded more..but it also says "diesel fuel only" on it,and there aren't many diesels in junkyards here !..truck had its original engine fail when it wasn't that old and sat in a garage for years,I was told..so who knows?..
I make sure the fluids stay topped off,but have only had to add any to the transfer case,it weeps some and loses a quart in a year or so..
I know they are "due"...think I should just buy a 5 gallon pail of gear oil seeing it adds up by the quart to close to the price of separate quarts when your buying enough to do 2 or 3 vehicles..
