dip stick connection

How does the dip stick tube connect to a turbo 350 & what is the standard length for that dip stick?

You stick the end into a rubber grommet on the transmission and there is a tab about a foot up from there that you put one of the transmission bellhousing bolts into. I'm not sure on standard length.

Thanks it looks like mine is missing the rubber grommet so its leaking.
