Dirt Every Day- Squarebody over Backdoor at JV

I hate the “build process” of most of their shows anymore. So much of it is less actually working towards a goal with a build, and just coming up with some stupid gimmick that can justify 3-4 days of working before ruining the car/truck. like I’d actually enjoy them more if I thought were actually trying to accomplish and “complete” a project for an intended purpose

It was a good episode. MTOD is pretty good as well. I've been a subscriber for a few years. Its worth it IMO. Another thing to note is whenever I have technical problems they have been responsive, and I always tell them what content I'd like to see more of. If it keeps growing with content it will just get more badass.

@Smokinthehippies is right though. I'd like to see an episode of higher quality build time, and an episode of wheeling that build.

I like dirt every day a lot. Those guys are fun. ORD has been in several episodes. Freds Alabama army truck has ORD stuff on it. They also had t case parts on another build a while back. Someone should invite Fred and Dave to Blazer Bash.

Being on the end of the phone for this build was excruciating, they had so many things go wrong with what seemed like a simple build on a pretty solid truck. The front axle was a big one. They talked about the gearing difference but didn't say much about it probably being a later model axle but thinking it was original we sent an early version knuckle and then the tierod was nut up on one side and nut down on the other. They had to buy the other side knuckle locally to get that one fixed. And taking apart the 465 and 203 to find the output shaft and input gear all worn out was not anticipated either. And then the first replacement trans being bad too. And then we didn't get Doubler instructions in the box. :doah:And then we sent the steering system before we knew spring lift so they ended up with the short drop pitman arm and of course it hit the frame.
But all in all it's pretty cool that it came together and drove up the big ledge. I'm a little surprised the D44 took it too but they can hang around for a while before they call it quits, especially with good shafts, new gearset, carrier replacement locker, etc. I'm not an advocate for the D44 with 40s but I think a lot of guys with 35s and 37s could get by way better than they think they would without buying into a D60.
Good entertainment. I wouldn't mind a little longer episode actually but I'm sure some sort of TV math says they're optimized now.

@Stephen I was surprised they didn't go with your short 32 spline tailshaft when they discovered the spline wear.
