Disc brake conversion for 10b's..? anyone done it?

 very good point and THANK YOU! I'd a been P'''sd if id bought a 14sf and found out I couldnt keep my wheels:doah:I never even thought of that. A 14sf was in the not so near future plans too

I dont need e brake either. never used one for anything but goofing off in my life. and the driving this thing does it wouldnt matter:dunno:

Other than needing caliper brackets, 10b front calipers and disk would work, no? In even the near term, I suspect that would be the easiest swap, even having to buy brackets, assuming those particular ones are made.

Isn't the 10b rear similar enough to a 12b rear after the drums are pulled? Why not do something similar to how I've ran front discs on my 12b rear? Super easy to do and cheap! Only think I'd like to change on it so far is to eventually add an e-brake. (Probably some type of driveline setup maybe??:dunno:)

That is an easy conversion, right there. I'm surprised no spacers were required behind the backing plate. Is there a positive center for the rotor? I see you had the center hole machined oversize. Does the "hat" fit exactly on the axleshaft flange?

It lined up pretty good and I don't remember needing any spacers for the bracket. When I had the rotor enlarged a bit it fit pretty snug. I do vaguely remember the original write up/thread that I followed recomending to use some cut pvc tube as shims around the wheel studs to avoid the rotor walking around on you. But I didnt use any since everything fit pretty well. I just didnt see a need for them. I didnt like the idea of having the pvc just kind of hanging around in there.

I'll probably have the rig in the garage this weekend. I could take some more detailed pics if anyone wants to see anything specific. Somewhere I have the diagram for when I drilled the holes for the brackets that I can get scanned as well.

I'll have to try and get the parts up for that:waytogo: looks simple enough.

Havent had any trouble with a backing plate spinning again have you? I think I'd add a few bolts to get more than 4. I have a plan now.:D

There we go! That's the one I remembered seeing, looks like an easy to do setup.
