I would not buy it because of the cost. you can get the brackets from a vendor for like $45 I think. rotors for less than $25 a piece at Autozone, calipers for $17 + core and brake pads for $12. all these parts are estimated they may be cheaper. just do like most people do, get the brackets from a vendor and buy the rest at the yard or a parts store and spend half as much. this guy is doing exactly what I just said and doubling his money. Dustin

well I look at it this way...

will he give you tech support during install???

also I skimp in certain areas but hell no on the brakes!!!!!

rotor 27.99 per side 55$

Brake pads 17$

Caliper 18$ +25$ core
Caliper 18$ +25$ core

Hoses are 20$ a piece

If you buy the guys stuff on ebay, you are looking at giving him about 50$. The price of getting stuff yourself may/may not save you money, depends on how far you have to drive. You can order everything from partsamerica and a vendor and it will be delivered though.

Personally, I would piece it together and buy from a vendor. I have delt with DIY4x and ORD, both of which have given superb customer service.

I bought a kit from him in March 05. The kit was 100% complete and ready to go. I bought it just for that reason, as I didn't have to run down anything or guess about what parts would work best. Bought it, received it 3 days later, installed it, worked great every since. He is a good seller.

I odered the set also, for ease of aquiring. The problem is I bought it on May 21st and as of 6/1 I have not received it. He is one state away and I have been assured I will receive it this week.

So let me get this right. People would rather spend $370 vs a $150 and ride to the parts store.:doah:

I think I'll start selling complete kits on ebay like that one. Thats a profit of $170 just to ride to the parts store.

I might just order a set so I dont have to walk down the street to autozone or advance auto parts across the street from them selfs:D

BTW this is sarcasim I will spend an extra 5 min walking.

Why would you need the arms alone?? Do the cady calipers not come with them?

nope.... rebuilds from autozone or any parts stores do not come with the spring or arm...

Yeah, all of you make great points and it seems that I just need to educate myself a lot more on disk conversions. Like some of you said, I'd just like to buy a complete package with everything included because with my lmited knowledge I would have a hell of a time aquiring the right parts, etc. At the same time I don't want to buy a POS braket setup. I see conversions going for $300 up to $1300.

BIG FAVOR. Could any of you post a link to a disk conversion where it shows not only the process of installation but the the actual parts that are needed and layed out so to speak. Anything that would show a noob like me what parts I need to get to make a set complete. Still a little confused about the Caddy calipers from 76-78. Can those be bought remanned from a parts store or are those just a junkyard find? Thanks fellas.

yes you can buy remans from parts stores, however they do not come with the lever or spring...

I got mine from a junkyard for $45 to my door... yes bought online....:wink1:

And it is only from years 76-78 right? 79-85 won't work even if they have the e-brake parts?
