i did the swap a while back and had TONS OF ISSUES!!!!!
first off...
got both calipers for $48 from a junkyard...
the good news was the springs and levers were good.. bad news was rest of caliper was bad...
bought the disc kit from azz-kickin.com (dont make the kit anymore)
$80 for caliper bracket
$60 for brake lines, bolts, and stuff... was worth it as it is a sweet kit
$40 2 d44 calipers
$40 2 d44 rotors
put it all together and worked great.... however my wife wanted the ebrake setup so I returned my cores to napa to buy 2 new calipers (@$65 each with no springs or levers)
so I have close to $300 into mine.. and love it... even though the ebrake is more cosmetic for the inspection station and my wife I dont mine...
before the swap i had the truck out.. 2 lanes went to 1 and some jerkoff passed me on the right so me being the kinda guy I am... flew up behind them and slammed my brakes... to get the hawgs to lockup and make a loud noise... well my back brakes must have been adjusted too much as the backend locked up and slid out right from under me.... now with the disc on all 4 corners I can slam the brakes and the truck doesnt lock them up but stops HARD..... you dont want your brakes to lock cuz then all kinds of crazy stuff happens...
also I still have the stock 3/4 ton master cylinder and works fine....
few pics with d44 calipers...
.
extra parts...
