Dissapointed with the Ruff Stuff pinion guard

I've bought a few things from RuffStuff and had a couple issues. The first was 14b disc brackets about 5 years ago. Had to grind the sides of the caliper "slot" to allow the caliper to slide in. No big deal, but I was pissed at the time because I had already painted them and had them on the axle when I realized it.

The latest was on my 14b diff cover. One of the top bolt holes is like 1/32" off and won't allow a bolt to go through it into the diff. For now I'm just running it without that bolt. I had also ordered the covers with drains. I was somewhat disappointed that it was nothing more than an allen head 1/4"-20 bolt with a rubber washer at the bottom. I ended up welding them up. I'll just pull the covers to change fluids.

I will say though that Dan is a stand up guy. He got a missed part on my last order right out to me.

Something I've found out building vehicles is to build it, modify as needed, then teardown, finish the parts and then final assembly. Seems as though many parts need to be tweaked from OEM to Chinawaneese sh!t, and everything in between.

the "Drain plug" on any diff cover is a joke. Your going to pull the cover anyways to change the fluid, just drain it in about 2 seconds into a pan.

on diff covers get lube locker gaskets and pull the cover to change oil then you can inspect your gears and locker then just bolt back on and no mess to clean up.
