If by yourself take off the drivers side valve cover and rotate clockwise from front of engine, and watch the valves opening and closing. The intake should be closed for about 90* of crankshaft rotation and the piston coming up to TDC. If the exhaust is opening, you need to rotate another crank revolution to insure both valves are fully seated when coming up to TDC.
Assuming your pointer and balancer are correct, set timing to about 12* BTDC and carefully line up the distributor rotor to where the number one plug wire will be on the cap. Give it a squirt of fuel and it should fire right up.
have a fire extinguisher handy, or a heavy blanket to suffocate any fire!
