looks good.

but need to add more than just the welds on the tips.

i have repaired countless jobs like that cause thay break easy.

use the extra area of the expanded metal before it goes off the side plates and add a lot more welds.

otherwise i like it.

Thanks... I just did the tips cause its really not going to see any stress or load, its just to keep the mesh on the frame... If it breaks, its an easy fix, I just used 4 sheet metal screws to attach it to the bed..
 
Remember the tailgate helps keep the sides vertical.

This is why you see a lot of older pickups that have lived a life without a tailgate with canted bedsides.
