Out of curiosity, anyone out there running a divorsed transfer case and 2x tranny? Thinking about doing a TH400/NP205 combo. Just not sure how well it will work out on the shorter wheelbase blazers?

short wheel base id say bad idea, but i know supersize k5 runs a divocred 205 behind his 4l80e, i plan to run a 205 behind a th350 if i 4x4 my 77 longbed.

If and when my truck goes under the knife this is what I'll be doing.

Swap from the 465/208 to a built 700r4 with a divorced M37/NP200 case, thereby fixing the horrible angles associated with big lifts on these trucks.

I'm just worried about the short wheelbase, and with the divorced t-case the even shorter rear driveshaft. Which will limit wheel travel. I know I can move the rear axle back a bit but still not sure. Conversly, I will gain a couple inches for the front driveshaft yeah?

You plan on lifting the truck any? If I remember correctly using a M37/NP200 yields a 4"-6" drop on the rear driveshaft yoke.

a M37/NP200

Honestly, I'm not even sure what that is? Is just know the basics such as TH400/NP205. I have that to work with. As far as lift, 4" right now but I am more worried about the useable wheeltravel for the highspeed desert playing. I want to keep the blazer as low as possible.

Looks like that, lol. It's more typically used for big lift applications, Versus rock crawling.

Aha, I know what your talking about now. Yeah, that won't work for me but thanks for the idea :)

For your wheelbase..

My opinion is its not worth the hassle. My truck was a 2wd to start with so it was an option for me that was appealing.

I would not do it again if I had a short wheel base truck.

Short wheelbase i wouldn't do it. Other wise nothing wrong with it. My International has it. People might not like it because of extra u joints to go. But if you get your shafts lined up properly it's plenty strong.
