Anybody do one of these and take pics? I just want to see how it all looks when finished. My driver's front spring hanger is cracked and I want to do some beefy ones. These of course fit the bill, plus the longer springs look cool. I tried simply removing a few leaves from my 4" springs which rode/flexed good and was cool at first but enventually I ended up with inverted arch....lol
I know there's already like 50 posts about 52 inch springs but I was hoping somebody had some pics of the b-52 kit installed specifically.

I put them on my truck but didn't take many pics, here are a couple to give you an idea. Fyi, mine are installed in the rearward position.

Here you can see how far the front end moved -

Thanks man. That helps clarify things for me. I was having trouble picruring in my mind how they tied into where the body mounts go, they are the new body mounts. Is that a 3/4 ton frame? I noticed there being a ton of bolt holes on them, now I see that's so you can pick a spot yourself. Are those 52" springs? It looks like those swampers get right into those fenders! I moved my axle forward 1.5" with ORD's zero rates and I love it. It kept my 37's from eating the rear wheel well openings. How far forward of stock do you think your axle is?
Nice truck!

The frame is an 87 K5 frame so nothing special. Yeah, the tires were pretty close but that was before any real trimming. I've cut a about 3" of the radius out so I don't think it's be too bad now but I have to wait until the new tires get here to check (sold the ones in the pics).

My B52's are bolted in the rearward position and I'm using 2.5" lift 52" springs, the axle is moved forward about 3".

Hey John will those help my truck flex more? i mean if i ever get the drivetrain fixed:haha:

Swapping to 52" springs will help quite a bit. You don't have to have the B52 brackets, there just for the cool kids. :D There's a right up in the tech articles for doing the swap using the stock hangers.

One important tip that I never noticed, don't relocate the rear hanger until after the front is done and the springs are mocked up. I did my rear first and now wish I had moved it about another inch forward. I could still move it but don't want my frame to look like swiss cheese. :doah:

I put the b-52s on only because I had broken both body mount brackets and one spring hanger up front. I'm still running 47" springs, but with all the brackets cracked up, this was an easy fix.:D

I'm not planning on relocating the shackles unless I have to. I just want to replace the old hangers with beefy ones and run the longer springs. I already replaced the shackles with longer/stronger ones and put in new greasable bushings.

from my truck i got the a bomb it does not move the axle forward as much as the stock hanger reversed. This alows the use of a 52 spring axle moved 2 inches forward or in stock location but the shackle angle would not be ideal. 52 with a longer shackle 6 inch no rear shackle mount modification worked out good for me.( that said every truck and spring are different i used an and old set of 3/4 ton sub springs nothing done to them and a 6 inch shackle and everything was good.) the b52 bracket would be the same and has more adjusting than the a bomb.
also cross over is a must due to the axle location moving forward.

Cool. I got my crossover steering already so I'm set up there. I'm pretty sure the shackles I have are 6", they are longer than stock. I want to go the same way you did with the 3/4 ton springs with no mods. I might want to do that anti friction stuff that's in the 52" spring tech arcticle on here.

fyi i checked on brand new ones and they come with the plates and they where 2 or 250 for the set at that price i figured not worth puting time and money in rehabing old stuff.

Click on the build thread in my sig. I have some pics of installing the b-52 kit on my 89 k-5
