DIY4X.com Closing

Damn.. that sucks.. hopefully someone will buy the business and continue with the products.

I too have many off the shelf parts and a lot of custom stuff we came up with for the Iron Maiden, the CCDRW, and the Vette.
Kert has the ability to see a part in his mind and make it reality without much if anything added to the tuition pile.
His race car shows his capabilities and he’s got many satisfied costumers in that field already. Here’s hoping Iron Monger Racing will continue showcasing his craft.

For whatever reason, his website is back up with a lot of his products. They all say "call to order"....so if you're wanting any last minute stuff....I'd take advantage of it NOW! lol.

Darn, i had gotten my hopes up, and had about $1500 in my virtual shopping cart.

Que the thread for best vendor alternatives to diy4x in the interim until someone takes the torch.

From Kert….

The product website is open only to show potential business buyers the product line. Nothing can be ordered at this time.
Are we able to give this a thumbs down
Sad he's moving on...I wonder what made him say "I'm done". Someone asked in the comments on facebook if he was retiring and he said far from it.
I know he was getting into racing stuff for a while.

I hope someone Here or in the offroad community buys his stuff and continues to make his products with the same quality.

Honestly, it would even be sweet if ORD got it and kept it as a diy line of products.

Ah, all the race car shops here are struggling now because no one has money to spend on them. Places that had 2+ years worth of work lined up are now looking for work. Same for the gunsmiths.

Welp, that sucks donkey balls. Hopefully someone else takes over and provides same quality products. Like mentioned before, it’ll be cool if ORD took over and kept it the DIY line.

Doesn't ORD sell 95% of the same stuff plus a whole lot more? I don't see it making any financial sense to buy the designs for a different version of the things you already sell.

I would have liked to get a power steering box cap for some cheap hydraulic assist but its not the only way to get it done.

@HankScorpio ORD has a few overlapping products but there are a few big items that they don’t like roll cages and dashes. They do offer bumpers but I think they are not always available plus they don’t offer a cradle only like the A-Bomb. They offer a front spring hanger but there’s no multi hole adjustability like the B52’s.

That said, I’d bet ORD isn’t interested in getting caught up in big items like that and they’ve never really embraced the longer front spring conversions.
