Does anyone know if a double din radio will fit in the diy4x dash? Also on the web page it doesn't show they have a cut out for the wipers. Is it only for trucks with the wipers on the turn signal?

Is that hole for your heater controls? Pic of it installed? Any issues with the linkage?
I just got mine yesterday and was kinda scoping out where those can go.
Also do any of you guys who have done this habe pictures of where you cut the factory dash?
If you look at the last couple pages of my build thread my dash is currently cut out. I can snap some specific pics if you need tonight. There isn't a lot of tech on the dash install out there.
When I get a chance to look through it I'll see if any more details would be good.
Cut everything but the VIN plate area and defroster vent tabs. The more you cut out, the better it will be, especially behind the stereo. Whatever isn't cut off behind the stereo, I recommend folding down. It needs all the space you can give it, just makes things easier.

I have been looking at that dash for a while myself. My main concern is mounting it and noise. Squeaks, rattles and clicks drive me NUTS. I love the look but I wonder about it in a daily driven truck.
Just turn the stereo up. Lol

My driveway is essentially a trail ride and it isn't nice even in the summer. I like the inside of the cab to be nice and quiet.
it's what they make seam sealer for... 
This ^^^ I am going to lay some strips of sound deadener inside and on the metal to metal spots and then seam seal the edges where it sits on the old lip. It bolts to both sides of the cab so it shouldn't wiggle "much"

I can say it doesn’t make any noise. Mine is powdercoated and I didn’t do anything to quiet noise. No padding or whatever. I don’t notice anything. It is very strong and sits in there tight. Just make sure when you bolt the sides that you aren’t pulling the cab mounts INWARD to the dash. This will crack the dash welds. Put some washers to take up slack in if needed, squeeze the dash in there.

People always comment and ask questions about my tube doors and dash from Kert. Most people won’t even notice alllllllllll the other stuff done to the truck. LOL

Oh right, its aluminum... my bad.
I can't remember if it's flat or semi-gloss black. I think it's flat. I didn't want the sun reflecting off it and it doesn't. Looks nice, easy to clean, and no funny glare. (except my old previously painted gauge bezel kinda has a glare)
