good deal:D , thank you.
yep, i'm also welder challenged for now. I also think I will be screwing with pinion angle, so i just have to un-bolt and readjust them to match when I do screw with it
The bolt-ons are $$$, but will never fail, pure beef, you will have a stupid/giddy smile the first time you pick one up, and really fit in with all the other razorback stuff I have from Kurt

yea but both of you have them that way i dont know if it hurts performance but i would have them the right way cause the valving might not be working right
EDit: those others dont matter bilstein shocks are a different class

ahhh I see that. I must be retarded. Sorry. I think that would be a better setup than the pics above.

But then what would you do it you wanted to adjust the shock angle?
You would nee to re-weld some tabs on at the correct angle.

I think the best option would be to use the weld on mounts like mone but have Kert fab up something that could be bolted to them yet still allow the shock to pivot.

Kind of hard to describe. Anyone good with solidworks? I would like to see this idea on paper......or screen.

Kert already built those....

Dumb question. (I know there are no dumb questions just dumb people.):haha: Anyways, This is something I could use but how do you tighten down the bolt into the welded-on nut since you don't have another piece of flat stock butting up to the bolt head to cause tension so it does not vibrate or back itself out of the nut. Wouldn't you just keep squishing the shock bushings the more you tightened the bolt? Does that make sense? :dunno:

I think that bottoming out the threads keeps it tight. Either that or the bolt will hit the housing of the mount.

Let me go look at the ones in my garage. I'll verify it.

It appears that the thread on the bolt is just bottom out on the nut. Maybe a little lock-tite would be better. Kert would know for sure.

Cool readymix, that makes sense. Just wasn't sure, but if I looked a little longer I'm sure I would have gotten it.:waytogo:

Bottoming out the threads keeps it from loosening up. This design also makes it impossible to overtighten the shockeye as long as the included hardware is used.

Thanks Readymix!

There you have your answer straight from the man.

Kert. I am going to have to get ahold of you on the phone sometime. I ended up using two of the bolts that came with my Backbone & Wraptor kit in an emergency. I had to help a friend get his Jeep back on the road. I was in too much of a hurry to remember the dimension of the bolts I used.
Hopefully you could tell me what they were when I tell you what parts I have left. I'll run to the store and buy them.

Awsome. Thanks fellas. Kert, I have so much chit I have to order from you over the next couple of months. Thanks for the info. and I like your product.

Did you use the old mounts as a guide to weld the new ones on? Are there any advantages to moving the mounts?
