bought a gallon of the stanadyne performance..... just filled both tanks up, so i'll do my first douche in a couple weeks...
I tried a couple different additives when I had the 05 Ram, never noticed a difference in mileage or how the truck felt driving. The only difference I ever saw was when I filled up at a Hess station. I always got 1.5-2 mpg better on their fuel.
I stopped worrying about the switch to ULS after watching a Gale Banks video. He got into the science of it and said the fuel was actually better for the diesels and that they were getting better performance numbers (higher cetane and specific heat)
I think the biggest thing is making sure you get your fuel some place that has clean tanks and sells a lot of diesel so it's always fresh.
That stiction eliminator is some good stuff.. especially for trucks like yours with oil driven injectors.the way i figure it, with 190 g's on it, it couldn't hurt to run a few batches thru now, to help the injectors/pump out a bit if they need it.... I definitely don't care about getting better mileage from it.. just want the mill to last as long as possible.... kind of like an occasional seafoam douche in gasser tanks as preventative injector maintenance....
I'm also thinking I may run some of the stiction eliminator in the upcoming oil change.. tho Rog has been pretty religious about every 5000... gonna do it in about 1000 miles or so.....
