do I have a right to be upset?

Thats 100% fair. But some of the OP's issues shouldnt have left the workshop like that. People make mistakes but when its something important like a wheel then you better make it right. The cosmetics are no big deal to me but the welds and lugs are just a safety issue. That shouldnt be something the manuf let go out

The guy making the wheel should certainly be able to say that the wheel will or won't holdd up, the one spot out of 30 inches of weld is not a safety issue it is a cosmetic one. For the studs.. I've had plenty like that on all three sets I have had, it still pulls together and no failures, what that comes down to is an annoyance, as long as they didn't imply they would be new oor perfect to me on a used wheel I'd let it fly.

I'm not sure what crawled up my ass today but I think the "1000.00" part is irrelevant, if the op wanted perfect wheels, top dollar is double that for some new racelines, walker evans ect..

Out of all of I guess aside from the cosmetics of the one spot on the weld the annoying part would be the powdercoat.

Maybe ask him to discount yoo what it will cost to get them recoated locally at a professional place. By the time you mess with shipping it would be less hassel and you would have them back sooner than a new set.

Now all my feelings aside about being resonable.. If the wheel centers are infact way off and and you confirm this.. Send em back. Refund and go with a new vender no questions asked.

enough of the bs, who's the vendor? it is, what it is, and thats what you received for your coin.. this isn't somebody owes me money, etc, etc, it's a purchased product and thats what they sent... whether they "make it right" or not, there's no reason not to tell us who it is..

I agree...If for no other reason that to stop someone else from dealing with them.

yup.... if they had answered your queries and were trying to work with you it would be different. perhaps someone else has an order that they can cancel before they have the same issues. if you payed with a credit card or paypal there is recourse there as well.

X 4 or 5 or what ever...

Name the vendor... If they make it right then let us know...

I still wouldn't want to go through the hassle that you've gone through already... If I were to be looking for the same product, I would want a heads up at least...

I bought a complete set of recentered H1's with pressed centers, pvc inserts and 90% used HMMV 37x12.5x16.5 tires from trail worthy fab. I paid a similar amount. I was totally satisfied with my product. I would definitely purchase from them again.
My good man, you got screwed! Out them! NOW!

- I cetainly am not saying it is ok, and I am not ok with shody work.

"Sounds like they got to busy and some quality control or refinement is needed to get back on track.."

I do however realize mistakes happen and its how they respond/react that matters. This is a used wheel not a factory new prroduction piece any time you have a human involved and used parts mistakes can be a byproduct.

I make mistakes, venders I work with make mistakes, some of them have been huge but I also see it for what it is and I try to be reasonable when working out a problem no matter which end of the stick I am on.

It doesnt matter if the item started out " used " or hot off the press. They are a company thats taking "used" rims and changing/re-conditioning them. Once the product gets to you, the only thing you should have to do is mount your tires and roll. It would be the same if you took your "used" car to a shop for a "new" paint job and getting it back with a couple blemishes. You would tell them to fix it please and they would.
No matter if the company has to eat the profit on this set they should offer more than just some studs. In my Company if someone ask us to re-furbish their sign with a new paint job and we give it to them with a scratch, or paint runs, we would fix it.
I bet they make sure the rims will look better after they lose some profit on returns and fixes.

Being the "owner"(LOL) of a small business myself I know mistakes DO happen and even if it was some numbnut I ended up firing I have to make it right. The offer of sending you new studs was an insult and shows they don't care much about customer approval. If the products they sell aren't going to be what they advertise then they need to rethink thier marketing claims. This is not a good time for businesses to pull that crap on people, money is tight and mass production is no longer an excuse.

wheels

talked to TWF today and as long as they follow through with what they said I will be satisfied. they have some understandable circumstances right now which has one of the owners not able to check my wheels before they went out, new people doing some of the work and them moving shops and stuff. Trailworty fab offered to do what ever I wanted to make me happy.... the only thing I'd say is if you order wheels from them I'd discuss with them to make certain not to get rims with welded studs on them. other than that they seem like they want to make it right. just had to let you guys know...I probably shouldn't had jumped the gun so quick.

No you were right to be upset. They had an opportunity to make it right the first time. Moving or not, new workers or not. They are just making excuses and until they do what they say it is all just talk.

Really...........

Making excuses cause you noticed the ****ty item they sent.....

The company screwed up, they are willing to do what ever it takes to make it right.

Aside from better quality control in the future what else do you expect?

Some of you are ridiculous

These are small companies, some of which were guys like you or me that turned a hobby into a business to support a small market.

Yeah, have to say that would make me happy. I could send them back for my money back or have them fix it 100%. Pretty wide range of options to happiness there.

Hands down, one of the stupidest things I've read on this site...

This was TWF? I don't know what to say.

Because if they pulled that **** over on Pirate, where I've always located them. those boys would have eaten them alive.

Thats where my H1's came from, and they are excellent quality. But, I did not get powder coat either. I have that done local, so i can see the quality before it leaves the premises.

I'll still purchase from them again as the are making this right.
