I was told by ORD and Advanced Adpaters I could no longer use my single stick. I didn't quite understand why. Getting ready to send the t-case to the machine shop and if I have to twin stick it, I guess I need to send the rails as well. I am learning as I go here, first real 4wd project and I have dove in head first off the top. Nothing is above my abilites, just need to completely understand what I am doing. Thanks.

thay had come factory single stick so i would guess not. but might as well do it now as later you will wish you had. other than that i dont see a mandated reason to twin stick it. unless the adv adaptor is made diffrent.

it could be clearance issues... i cant remeber how my single stick worked, but doing a twinstick is one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do on your truck, youll love it

THis truck is going to have more levers than I know what to do with. A buddy of mine manufacturers paddle shifters for electronic controlled transmissions, so I am going to have 3 sticks on the floor and paddles on the column. This will be a sight!

I got my adapter from Advance and it wasn't mentioned that a twin stick would have to be used. I plan on using a single stick. Hopefully I will know more this weekend as everything gets bolted together.

I have had it together once and didn't see a reason to twin stick it.

Now your original stick wont line up with the factory hole in the floorboard. It will either need to be bent or a stick that would have come on a 4l80e and 205 would need to be used.

Maybe that was the issue, they weren't exactly clear about why

Need to know the year of the donor stick I guess. :)

PsRumors knows the deal, 1982-'91 1 tons use the same stick. Previous won't fit the floor right, but it doesn't look like there would be any phsyical issues with fitment on the tranny/t-case side.

It that is the deal, I will see if I can find one though the classifieds

It is the '82 -'91 k30. I have one on the way and will see how it goes. Maybe by the end of the weekend.....I hope.

IMO it really doesn't matter about the floor anyway. The stock 205 stuff out of a 1 ton won't fit the floor cutout for the 208 anyways. (trim, not stick)

Only one or two of the bolts line up for the boot, which has the integral metal ring. Of course it's not big enough to cover a larger hole, so you'd at least have to punch holes in the floor for the screws. Stupid on GM's part. :(
