Do I Need A PCV?

I dont even use valve covers, why obstruct air flow?

As far as oil in the breather for valve covers with no baffle, I saw this. I tried it, seems ok

Not sure what you mean. How would you protect the valve train and keep dirt out , oil in with out valve covers?
The rubber grommet idea is ok definitely better than straight open

Did you plumb to valve cover, or have an old road draft tube block ...?
Most valve covers only have 1 hole and maybe an oil fill.

I had cheap Chines Jegs "in house" brand aftermarket chrome valve covers. the right side valve cover had a standard PCV grommet size hole, and the left side valve cover had the oil fill hole for an oil cap and another larger hole for a breather. Mr Gasket makes a reduced size grommet designed for valve cover breather cap size holes so you can plug a PCV valve into it instead of a breather cap.

I understood the pcv in both valve cover part. I want know how you got fresh air into the crank case?

I did the same thing as @1ton did on a SBC a long time ago.... I could hear the suction past the crank seals when I shut the engine off for about 10 seconds...
I swapped out one of the pcv valves for a breather...

I figured it probably was a bad idea...

I forgot the mention that part of the set-up was that I had one of those funky breather/oil filer cap deals. This engine had a lot of miles, and blow-by was a problem.

There are oil filler caps that have the PCV valve grommet made into them also...they work on valve covers with no baffles, they have a mesh type filter inside..oil fill cap with pcv.jpg

Subb'd I'll be back to this later. Running SBC valve covers on a 5.3L LS for a vintage look. I just have a breather on each valve cover right now. Guess I will have to route something to the intake

Since factory valve covers have baffles for the PCV and I'm running aftermarket ones, I used the Mr. Gasket baffled grommets to keep from sucking oil.

I've seen guys use the outer shell of a 12V cigarette lighter for a PCV baffle before!..
