Do I seriously have to remove my front fender to adjust the door up???

I got to do this to. The PO did the repair then they tacked the pins in place. I can't get my electric cut off wheel in there. So I just bought new hinges. Starting to get warm around here, might do it next weekend.

Should do this to mine as well. Neither is sitting correct but the D-side is bad. Need a new striker bad.

I know I did it once with the fender on, just be unbolting the back of the fender. Letting it pull out a couple of inches makes a big difference in the space available. It's a pain no matter what.

Can you just un-bolt the hinge from the door to gain access to the body-side hinge bolts, then move the lower hinge a bit back? It may take a bit of trial and error, but looks easier than removing the fender.

That is how I removed hinges,by taking off the one bolt that is holding the botto of the fender to the rocker panel out, then pull the fender outwards and shove a block of wood under it to hold it--then you can get a wrench on the bolts, but its still not "easy"..

Just about every truck I've had ,had shims factory installed under the bottom hinge to door bolts,I see nothing "hack" about using shims,if it was good enough for GM,its good enough for me!...

I have to replace the lower hinge on my 85 Burb--some hackwad welded the hinge pin in just ONE of the two holes,I managed to get it out and shove a bolt in it for now--I looked thru my parts piles and all I have is one passenger side lower hinge, and I need a drivers side!.:doah:...figures!......might have to fix the one the PO messed up..
