Do not do busines with this company ***(UPDATE)***

The people at Radiator Barn just called me back, after looking at the pictures I e-mailed them, and said they would pay for the shipping to return it. They e-mailed me an electronic UPS return label to print out. I just hope they are not going to try and charge me for a restocking fee. After I told them it had bugs in the radiator, the smart a$$ customer service rep said, "What are you now...an Entomologist?"

This is exactly why I would never buy a radiator from any online company.. It is too much headache and hassle to buy something like that from somebody across the country when you have to return it.. If you buy local you can return it and have it replaced before you can even get the online company on the phone..

There was another thread not too long ago that I posted in where I said the same thing.. Maybe it will save somebody else the headaches and hassle this guy went thru..

you can read it here..

Also there was a few people that reccomended this same company that now seems a few people in thread had trouble with too..

ive never used a mail order company for radiators, i just dont trust ups/fedex with big delicate packages, plus my local delco store is always within 5-10% of most parts houses, plus i get another 10-20% cuz i'm a "reseller" (:rotfl: , its amazing what you can do with a tax id#) and they always fit... :thumb:

Damn that sucks! Did you use www.radiators.com ? Hope you get a new one....
Good Luck

I got mine from this website back in '02 and haven't had a problem with it since. That was running my AC on Max when I was stationed in Las Vegas, Nv in '01 to '03. I got lucky and didn't have to pay freight since they had a distributor there in Vegas.

At least I now know it was not me. I ordered a replacement for my 84 Bronco II (looks no different shape than yours other than smaller) and they sent three. None of the three looked the same (one radically different) nor fit right at all. The metal on the last one was so thin it bent very easily and said made in India. Finally got my money back and bought a Modine locally from a rad distributor. Oh, and this was from www.radiator.com.

credit cards

Money being put back onto your credit card can take up to 30 days. When you buy something, they damn sure get it from your card right there and then, but when it's going the other way, they damn sure take thier sweet ass time about it.

By law any retail company has 30 days to credit a return to a credit card, but it can be done faster if they wish. It has been eight business days since a sales rep at this company told me it was credited back to my account. Unless they are playing games with me, it should not have taken as long as it has to be credited back to my account; if they where telling me the truth about crediting the money back to me in the first place.

It's not the radiator company that takes their time, it's the credit card company.

That is possible, but my credit card company says it is highly usual for it to take this long, if the money had been credited when a Radiator Barn sales rep said it was.

Credit card credit

Well, maybe they are blowing sunshine up your butt. I'd get on the horn with the rad company, and tell them the credit card comany has no record of you doing anything except taking my money in the first place. If they have some kind of paper trail, then get back with the credit card people and give them that info. Like I said, it DOES take time. When I was a parts guy, people would be bringing stuff back the day they bought it, and I would credit it back to their card right there in front of them. It would even show it on the reciept, and they'd be coming back weeks later saying they still haven't seen it on their card. You probably won't see it until you get your monthly statement, or your next bill.

...Radiator Barn. Also known as Radiator Hotline, Radiator.com, Radiator Zone, Lake Shore radiator, and a whole bunch of other names...
How sure is everyone that all these companies are affiliated? Where are you getting your facts? Website does not state any affiliations.
I bought a 3 core replacement for my 2 core in a Jeep Cherokee XJ from Radiator.com. Cost around $109. Shipped fast, was obviously new and fit well. It even had brass tanks, which fixed the leak problem around the plastic tanks on the 2 core. This was around 2002.

I've got a new 4 core from them in the K10 and a new 3 core in the C10. No problems with my orders and the rads were brand new but it's been a few years. Maybe they changed management for the worse.

I'd expect them to refund your money directly with an apology or at a minimum offer a free replacement for thedamaged unit. That's really strange, they seemed like a good company to me. I still have the business card if you want to try my rep. You ought to let them know this is being blogged and there reputation with Chevy Truck owners is on the line.

If they continue to give you a hard time then post up, I'll stop doing business with a company that mistreats a customer like that.

I got the affiliation information from the Better Business Bureau. This company is a member of the BBB, and the all the names they do business under where listed on the BBB website.

I just bought a rad from radiator.com last month for my 71 burb. It was 1/2 the price of other places, came in a day, was brand new, and fit perfectly. I was pretty happy.

If all the companies are affiliated, why do they all have different websites? I would think they would save money and have all those URLs point to the same place.

For the same reason General Motors makes cars under the Chevy, GMC, Saturn, Buick, Oldsmobile, etc.
