Do you ever let anyone else drive your rig?

i let my friends that have lifted trucks drive it, and if someone else does, i give them " break it u buy/fix it" speach,i let my girlfriend drive it once because i hit a tree with my quad and couldnt shift or drive

When I get "camok5 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" finished, I will not let anyone drive it, except me. Most people I know have never drove a truck with tires 42-44" tall.

Right now, my mom has drove my Jimmy a few times... it worries me sometimes though, she rides the clutch, and always stalls /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

the last time i did , JR was a stock blazer and the girl's took it to the mall, they started flying through the parking lot over the parking CURBS /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif "we thought it was OK cuz it's a 4x4" WTF???? never again. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

I let one of my buddies take the burb for a spin around a parking lot once because he was green with envy but thats it besides mechanics. My mom's hardly tall enough to get in the damn thing and my girlfriend doesnt even like riding in it so that takes care of that.

when i had my blazer, i never let anyone drive it...got an 01 now and i dont really care...trucks kinda a whore...i think pretty much all my good friends have driven it at least once

after seeing what my best friend did to his dakota (he managed to flip it over a volvo, meanwhile causing $110,000 in damages to an intersection. he killed a streetlight - not because he knocked the pole over, but because one of the wheels came loose, rolled up the pole, and crushed it) , and how he drives his truck (medians mean nothing to him), HELL NO.

there are only 5 people (other than mechanics) that have driven my truck since ive owned it: me, my parents, my friends dad (tranny guy/fellow gearhead) and my friend, who drove it a 1/2 mile to the store to get some drinks.

my sister backed it out of the driveway once. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif nuff said.

My wife is the only one that drives mine but only OFF-ROAD /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif SHe is kinda scared to drive it on the street.

I have actually never had anyone else drive my truck. I have had it for 3 1/2 years, it was my first car, I drove it home and from then on out. And my friend Colby always asks me if he can "take it for a spin" , then ask the same about his mom. LOL, she is pretty hot, but he always changes the subject. Wonder why? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If it gets finished someday I may give it to my daughter to drive to school. But it's not being set up for serious wheelin.

I let my friend drive the c10 to prom, anybody and their brother can drive the Jeep and c20. The '87 only Dad and I drive because it's his. I used to let people drive the K5 all the time. I guess I just don't worry about it too much. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I drove the 75 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (Jons, 75-K5)

I dont like people driving my truck and I dont really like driving others vehicles. I'll drive others vehicles on road trips but thats about it.

I think driving another vehicle off road and on road has its differences. I'll let people drive stuff on road in emergencies or if it's really necessary.

But I have people that think I should let them take one of mine through the mud pits or out on the backroads or on the hills.

I always tell these people, "If I let you drive it, then I have to let everyone else here drive, too, and by the time I get it back, I'll have a bunch of repairs to do."

If it's someone I really trust, I'll let them, just so long as there arent a bunch of others around to see. I feel like a jerk saying "No, no one can drive anything", but I just don't want to be stuck building stuff so that other can break it all the time.

I think my Dad has driven my truck once.

I have let three past girlfriends drive it out in the woods. The rest I didn't even trust their driving enough to be passenger in their vehicle. Only one had enough guts to drive it on the street. Usually once you let them drive it they find it a lot more interesting.

Occasionally, I let my wife drive it around town. Generally, I avoid this because I know I would be mad at her if something happened. I also let her drive off-road once in a while, but I make her recite the mantra "save the equipment" a few times first. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif I want her to learn to wheel and work her way up to doing more obstacles, but she may always be afraid to do the harder stuff.

Most people are gonna complain about it being "hard to get into" or "can't see where I'm at", so forget them. They can find something else to drive. If I know that somebody can't tell where all four corners and all four tires are at, then I am an irresponsible citizen to let them take it on the road anyway.

I loan my car out to people sometimes, that's not a big deal. It's a mildly modified Supercharged Grand Prix: about 280hp/320torque with Front wheel drive. The only instructions I give them are "make sure to use Premium" and "grab the wheel with both hands if you mash the throttle". If your vehicle has a lot of instructions that go with it, then other people probably shouldn't be driving it.
