Solids. The vent windows are too much of a hassle. Too many seals, parts were hard to come by, tiny steel screws bonded to the aluminum frame, vent window pivots loose so they smack the window when shut, cheesy latch, etc.
you are going to use the sliders once or twice... and then end up fixing them 2 or 3 or 4 times...
I've never owned the sliding ones, but both of the other k5s that have come and gone through my little group over here had them. one set leaked water. the other set leaked water and wind and was really annoying.
-matter of fact, i have now siliconed the wind wings closed up front - they were old and all the rubber was failing... and they didt seal. i want everything simple. I will fix the AC before I fix the wind wings or worries about sliding windows on the shell.
Sliders, even though I don't use them often. I even bought new latches for them.
I am very tempted to take the deflector glass off, they have been more in the way than they have been used.
Rear seat passengers have seemed to prefer being able to open the sliders.
i trying to find solid windows to replace my nasty looking messed up sliders, but no luck. I can find the rubber & trim, but no glass. Anyone have luck with this?
