Im lookin at a couple dana 60's later this week and am wonderin what the difference is between the 2? I had heard they were pretty well the same. Both ar in the 70's/80's vintage.

Thanks

JB

only diff is spring pad width the dodge d60's are 35" wide where a chevy is 35.5" so the only diff is 1/4" of width on each spring pad. But both are kingpin axles 35 spline inners and 30 outters.

Dodge D60's use external hubs. They are notorious for getting loose and breaking, plus the lockout and drive flange selection is very limited.

Inner shafts are different lengths, knuckles are different, brake calipers are different too.

Thanks guys. What about steering? Currently i have the corp. 10blt front. I also read that the break lines might need to be changed. L8ter this week i am goin to look at a couple axles. The guy who has em wants the highest geared axle(numerically lower) and i want the lowest geared axle(numerically higher). So i am hopin the Chevy 60 is geared lower b/c it should pretty well swap in.

Would i be able to use the dodge 60 outers as well? Or would i need to find chevy outers?
