Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

I just bought a 6" lift with 37" tires to place on my blazer. A lot of people I have been talking too have discouraged me from placing the lift and tires. They say that it is too high and the truck is more likely to flip over or its just too high. That it will also run very sluggish or the transmission will not be able to last a long time with the lift and tires. What do you guys think? Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6" lift? I have a dana 60 and 14 bolt with 4:56 gears. Let me know?

I have a th350 modified with a shift kit. i bought like this. rebuilt 2 years ago. Hardly driven the thing.

No pics but that set up should be fine. I have a 5" with 37's on 4.10's a TH350 and no big problems yet (been running it for a year now)

About rolling it with a 6" lift and 37's, well, if you drive like a jackass, probley, but if you are a good driver, I don't see it rolling or flipping. You may need to regear your axles (I find it cheaper to swap in different axles with lower gears, then to regear, and it's always good in my opinion to upgrade too somethinng stronger anyways) because stock gears and large tires tend too burn up automadic transmissions.

Here's 2 rigs with a 6" lift...

My purple k5 has 6" TCI front/2" TCI with ORD shackle flip
"madmikes" yellow k10 has 6" BDS/ with a 4" body lift..

My Rig never felt like is was going to roll..(On the road)

The main reason I wouldn't go any higher is...
driveshaft angles..

35's with about 6" of lift, no trimming, could easily fit 37's. Once you get it lifted a drive it a bit your driving style will change with the truck and once you become more comfortable driving it lifted I dont think its much different than when I had 1" body lift and 32's... dont get me wrong the first month its feel really tipsy...

37's 4.56's and a non-overdrive tranny should be good. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

You find that most people are fairly ignorant when it comes to lifted trucks. Your truck could rollover as is, without the lift. Hell any car car roll if you want it to. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
4.56's are alright for now but 4.88's would be better /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

How the hell could it be cheaper to sell his 60 w/ 4.56s and try to find a 60 with lower gears???? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

is cardomain easier for posting pics from?

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

you can use cardomain, or just use your ck5 gallery /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'd say 4.56's should be just fine. I think you're set up will be good if you don't drive like an idiot.

[/ QUOTE ] That would be the rock crawler vib...that is untrue for the most part. A 6" lift is short IMHO. It all depends on the type of fourwheeling you do. THe hardcore mud rigs are much taller than just a 6" lift most of the time. In fact with 37's I would be adding a 3" body lift to help clear them. I used to do hill climbs all the time with my K5 and I have 10" of lift on 35's. I never had any tippy moments for the most part.
On the rocks it could be a bit tall but that would be on some extreme rock trails.

[/ QUOTE ] 4.56's and 37's aren't bad. I won't have the guts it had with stock tires and light 10B's but thats the trade off. 4.88's or 5.13's would be better but what you have isn't bad, especially with a th350. You'll be fine, that combo should be out of the "danger" zone with causing tranny damage.

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

My bad, I didn't see he already had the good axles with 4.56's.

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their rig with a 6\" lift?

Don't forget that with that 60/14 combo you have over 1k lbs very close to the ground so your center of gravity is lower than someone with stock axles. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
