cant find a replacement mine bit the big one had to pop the rear cover off and roll the window up with a drill any help would be appreciated

Eww. Oddly, LMC does NOT list them, nor does Dorman (aka Motormite "Help!") ClassicParts, if that's the old ChevyDuty, only lists a bezel, not the switch.

Looks like you're off to the junkyard.

But, umm, are you SURE it's the switch? I remember there being a safety gizmo in the tailgate that doesn't let you roll up the window if the tailgate is down... maybe two light blue wires, sitting on one side with the latch that locks the tailgate up?

If you have the cover off, look for the two light blue wires, unplug the thing, then jumper across it with a paperclip or the like and see if the window works then (be sure not the short the bare paperclip against metal!)

I seem to recall having to bounce one side of my tailgate to get the window to work ... got tired of it, went pickup tailgate and soft-top.

dremu: i already bypassed the switch going to connect the wires directly to the window motor to see if it is a loose connection then off the the junk yard.

yes, they do make replacement switches because i bought on at my local autoparts store a few years ago. i'll call over when they open and ask what brand they are.

Cool. No worries, just didn't want you going through hell to get a new switch only to discover there's something else borked.

Check with your local dealer, I had bought one there a bunch of years ago and they were still available then. IIRC my buddy at the dealer told me they were the same switch used in the burbs even the new body style.

ill try tomorow nothing is open on sunday in lubbock but the church's and walmart:D

Dunno if you specifically want the factory style switch in there or not.

When mine went bad, I just drilled a hole next to the factory switch and put in a 3 pole momentary toggle switch. From my days as an equipment mechanic, the inductrial toggle switches are sometimed more durable than automotive stuff. Mine has worked great until yesterday when my motor finally seized. Now I gotta get or rebuild my window motor.

turns out there is a loss wire at the motor bad news i snapped the cable that rolls it up and down when i connected it to the drill.

can't win for loosing the last 2 days bought holley clear bowl sights to set the fuel level in the carb, which worked but when i removed them to put the mettal ones back the plastic broke and fell inside the carb had to pull the carb and remove the chunks of plastic.

it has not been my day.

meh i put those clear ones in when i got my truck avenger... forget how long ago.. they are still on it..

found it 36-0767 now i just need to find what i did with my bezel again

Wouldn't the a/c switch stay in either the center, left or right position "locked" rather than springing back like the rear window switch? They both behave differently from one another....

That is what I was thinking too!

I did find the Philmore 30-695 switch for $6.97 http://www.intertexelectronics.com/...ocker-SwitchDPDT-20A-125VON-OFF-ON--P365.aspx

They are a Texas company. Guy said they have several in stock. Which is good because I need one for the burb.
