Hello to all,
I need some information on doing a motor swap. Here is my situation.
I have a 1988 CC that does not have the original motor with it. It is carbureted 454.
I have purchased a 1989 suburban with an original 454tbi installed. That motor has all the smog components installed. I have no interest in running a smog pump. If I decide it remove the smog pump, and associated components, will the ECM be able to control the engine correctly? I guess my question is: does the ECM have anything to do with the smog pump; are they in any way interlinked?
I’m sure I will have more questions to follow but I will start there. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles
