done at last. 52" swap...

You better get some spare mainleaves especially if you aren't going to run clamps on the spring packs. Looks sweet though. 52's are not my cup of tea but the swap looks good.

yeah, they will be clamped, just hadn't gotten around to doing so in that pic. I'm looking at modifying those clamps so they are longer and have multiple bolt holes so I can decide how much it will move from the rest of the pack. Of course, correctly installed bump stops and limiting straps will probably help more than anything. :)

looks good :thumb: looking forward to seeing bumpsop/limit strap and shock placement ideas! :D

yeah, all that good stuff will be in the "next installment" I send to Steve. The rest (rebuilding stock springs and the swap it self) should be up ASAP. The 3rd part (brakelines, driveshaft, steering linkage, and shock placement) is going to take me a little while to get all dialed in, written up and pics taken so I'm gonna hold off get it done and then submit it to 'the man'. I still haven't got my brakelines yet.. should be by the end of the week tho...

lol, thats in the write-up too. They aren't just cinder blocks... I liquid-nailed 3/4" plywood to one side, and filled the holes in the middle of the blocks with concrete. Those suckers weigh about 60 pounds each. They have no problem withstanding the weight of my rig. In any case, there is a "dont try this at home" disclaimer included in the write up..... lol!

 Maybe put a little something in the Tech Articles "Advance Preview" forum?

steve has the write up... its going to get posted as permenent tech on the ck5 homepage soon. I don't want all the effort I put into this thing to go to waste when all the pics turn into little red X's because my picture host went away. ;)

thanks for the props guys... I think it turned out ok for my first one. Hopefully there will be more to follow soon. I am gonna do rocker replacement, roll cage, narrowing, top chopping and a custom dash in the not to distant future... may do write ups for all of the above. We'll see. In the meantime, hope you guys thinking about doing the swap find it useful.

yeppers, I need to get the 3rd part of the 52 swap writeup done first... but after that, major body stuff is gonna be next. :cool1:

glad ya liked it. :xmas:

Nice work, exactly what I've been looking for. :waytogo:

On a side note, in one of your pics I noticed that your draglink is flipped to the top of the knuckles. How did you acheive this? Did you just retaper the knuckles? I'm looking at doing the same to mine.

Thanks.
