ok so i got my ord 241 douber and now its time to build the crossmember. what size square tubing is everyone using? i was thinking 1.5 inch .120 square tubing but not sure..... i want as much clearance as possible so would 1 inch .120 wall be too small? or should i go all the way to 2 inch?

i am not entirely sure how i am building the crossmember my frame is boxed so i am not sure how i am going to attatch the crossmember to the frame yet but its a 241/205 doubler hooked to a nv4500 and about a 500 hp small block and eventually a 200 hp shot of nitrous so i want it strong. with lots of ground clearance.

Gonna put a skidplate on it?

I would probably use 1.5 .188 (3/16) thick for the main structure.

I would not use 2", if you can get the 1" in the .188 wall I would use that too.

Its all about how much room you have, the bigger stuff would probably be fine but harder to package

yea i was gonna put a skidplate. so 1 inch .188 wall sounds good. i think it would be easier to fit everything around it than the bigger stuff. think the 1inch is strong enough for the main structure?
